Some how I don't feel guilty about this disaster.
There are so many tragic events in the world every single day. A plane crash here, a ferry capsize over there, landslide, children starving in Africa etc etc. These events are out of our control.
A doctor shouldn't feel guilty about earning a living from a sick or injured patient. The same for a lawyer who assists a client who has fallen victim.
If anything, investing in a mining company is helping a lot of people survive. And we investors are merely trying to earn a squid from the dig. Sure, you can give to charity to help ease your mind. And it's normally tax deductible. Now excuse me while I google "dam collapse" and see where else I can make some money. Ahh, just as i'm typing this I got a sharp pain in my chest.
