Of course we can always do better but if you can find a communist country or dictatorship that is a better place to live for the average person than most democracies then tell us all about it. Someone once said that politicians are like nappies, you need to change them regularly or they start stinking. Now good leaders recognise this and have had it written into their constitutions but unfortunately some future leader becomes drunk on power and changes the rules so they stay there. Putin and Xi are classic examples.
