There are 14 Chinese listed companies operating copper & cobalt mines in Katanga in DRC.
These Chinese companies are directly affected by new law, However their share prices have not reacted any negatively to the new DRC minerals codes, insteadly HuaYou and CMOC hit their record level yesterday.
HuaYou, AVZ's second largest shareholder (if exercising 186m options, will be the largest shareholder of AVZ), its share price hit record high yesterday, at CNY109.99/share, its market cap fetches AUD$13 billion!
I don't think DRC political risk affects any Chinese interest, but growing.
CMOC, (MC: A$30b, operating copper & cobalt mine, Tenke in DRC)
CMOC spent USD$2.65 billion acquired 56% of Tenke copper & cobalt mine in DRC in 2016.
