Chinese offshore gaming crackdown

Targeting the Philippine offshore gaming operators for 1. hiring Chinese citizens to work illegally in the country and 2. targeting Chinese citizens as their primary customers. Claims that Philippine casinos and online/ proxy gaming has led to funds being moved offshore and into the Philippines illegally, resulting in cross-border money laundering. Suggests the Chinese government plans to do more to crack down on cross-border gambling and online gaming/ proxy betting, as well as on underground banks that facilitate illegal money movement.

Given Suncity's recent involvement at Nagacorp 2 I suspect they will probably have the same attitude towards Cambodia.

Looks to be a shot across the bow of the junkets/ local groups providing players to the casinos and online betting businesses more than anything else.

Guys like DNA will have to be very careful regarding their China business.

China is doing what it can to ensure that gambling activity stays in Macau which they have better control over.
