Not sure what you think I said? But what I intended to convey is that, all mining is a dirty business that inevitably causes some environmental damage.

Even with the worlds best practice today there are environmental consequences. Lets face it none of us would be happy if a mine set up next door....

In international terms as far as RE mines go Bao isn't the worst case, and that picture is of their tailings pond that was built to contain the pollution that would otherwise have occurred in the surrounding countryside.

The main pollution issues in China come from the mining (sometimes bootleg) of Ionic clay deposits and the poor controls on pollution when they extract the REEs from them in the southern regions.

The pollution from other RE mines that also involve mining uranium is often much worse than Bao imo.
