Just an observation that the recent apathetic reaction from the Russian military, pretty much waving Pirozghin and Wagner through to within a few hundred ks of Moscow would've sent a shiver down the spine of Chinese leadership. A plucky democratic opponent with Western support does much better than expected against unimaginative and ordinary leadership and disillusionment builds among the army. Direct challenge to the power structure of Russia came very close to manifesting. I would expect that China will take longer now to build absolutely overwhelming force before pulling the trigger. We should be out of China by then or towards the very end of the leases.
