This the point of contention with the region, is it different to Mainland China, some have said some things are different, but when it comes down to the fundamentals of Sovereign law it is not, and as such is subject to Chinese law.

It's like the media raids here in Australia, they make a song and dance about it on the ABC, but fundamentally the law at it's base says that the powers of investigation should not be compromised for lack of National security, and if anyone who acts outside such law is subject to investigation, if they haven't broken the law they have nothing to worry about.

But if they have and are using their position of influence to seek some sort of privilege of abstinence from the law, then that is in a fundamental way hindering the law from doing it's essential work of keeping National security and is in that context non compliant.

National security is a very important thing in any country, and to compromise it in any way is foolish.
