    compare that....a 100,000 or 200,000t increase of refined zinc production from China's largest zinc miner and zinc reserve vs an increase of demand forecasted by China's own internal research group Anitake and it kind of puts things in perspective a little...it will have already have been sold...and they will still need another 430,000t of new production for the rest of 06/07...

    From above:

    - apparent consumption in China has grown 20 percent every year
    - consumption was approx 3 millions tonnes in 2005
    - China may need almost 4.8 million tonnes and production is capped at 5 million by 2010

    Even if China's apparent consumption grows only 10% p/a
    - they will still need 4,831,530 tonnes by 2010...so the numbers are very conservative indeed...(add 10% a year to 3,000,000 for 5 years)

    Supply:
    - is likely to lag 10% behind demand or consumption..
    - their biggest increase of 100,000 to 200,000 from the biggest miner and refiner in China provides some comfort that they won't meet these targets for a long time..
