China won the right to host the Olympics on the merit of their submission and with Australian support - an event totally unrelated to the recent tragic Sichuan earthquake. Managing the modernisation of a society with 1.3b people is an immense undertaking I have been privileged to see first hand - full credit to their President & their Premier for placing themselves amidst the earthquake victims! If you always look for dirt in gutters you will find it - the rightful role of 'western media' reporting on China since it helps sell stories, media constructs etc.
