I share some of your views however my beleif is that to be successful, it must be a win, win, win scenario. The consumer must win in a sense that the price of the unit must be within reach to receive the benefit, that price must contain a margin for the manufacturer to profit and the businesses that surround the product in this case the gas suppliers, energy suppliers and retailers must also benefit.

Therefore, in my humble opinion the cost purchasing the unit, the cost of the energy to run the unit and the cost of obtaining electricity are all factors to this company's success. In reality, fuel cells and gas electricity are a interim energy creation solution as they do still requrie a fossil fuel albeit at a lower environmental cost than coal.
