I agree. The way I see it the combination patent is absolutely critical for the company. And this is not on solid ground in my opinion. It implies that after 2022 other companies can use the Coxsackie virus for cancer treatment as covered by the original patent but not combine it with other drugs. Will this patent actually be granted? Is there precedent for something similar? I'm not sure. Someone a patent law expert here? please share.
From what I could tell, the original patent indicates how to incubate the virus and how to isolated it. It's fairly simple.
