    If you look at the candlestick chart, you will notice that gaps appear in the chart. These gaps tend to be 'filled' at a later date by the formation of new candles and wicks covering the space.

    Gap filling is a phenomenon of trading charts, and is a metagame of sorts (really all charts are a psychological metagame). Because most people expect them to be filled, they become strong psychological price targets for traders.

    Gaps are not guaranteed to be filled, and can take an extremely long time to be filled. But I could provide you with endless examples of it occuring.

    In this case the gap on the AMS chart is a great shining beacon saying fill me now, so I expect it's only a matter of time before it happens. But it isn't guaranteed.

    You'll note there is also a small gap around 25c
