Don't worry about the forest the Green Beret's will sort that out quickly would be one of their first jobs I imagine a great imitative announced by the WA government to get these minerals to markets quicker.
As said previously an easy work around for the forest loss is to rehabilitate farmland in the same zones net result is no loss of forest.
