I was reading some of the original announcements today and noticed that either the first or second hole drilled included 30 metres of massive sulphides which assayed at 3% nickel.
3% nickel. Makes me wonder if Gonneville was possibly a volcano eons ago. If yes then massive sulphides are likely to be down below, in former magma chambers.
From memory soil testing at Baudin came up with a good figure for nickel.
