Gonneville - I notice that the spoil from most of the holes now drilled is yellowish in colour.
Shouldn't it be red (mafic/ultramafic)?
The exception is a patch at the forest boundary
Baudin - when viewed from around 33km on google earth there is an apparent halo toward the west and centred on the broken ground below Baudin.
I have been assuming that it is some sort of blast halo
but now I wonder if it might be the Western rim of a caldera of an ancient volcano.
That would make the said broken ground below Baudin the guts of that volcano.
There appears to be a lot of mafic/ultramafic ground to the West - a good example being at the corner of Julimar Road and Plunkett and surrounding area.
Any geologists out there?
