We are on a hiding to nothing.
It is clear that the shorters in the main are not mums and dads but huge international corporations.
What can a company do?
1. Can a public listed company pass a motion banning the short selling of its securities? Since short selling has been around since the 1600's there are bound to be plenty of precedents.
2. A company can raise a loan and buy back the majority of its shares which have been issued - these shares can then be reissued in the future when the price is more favourable
