I think the freefall in the palladium price is closely related to Russia funding their war effort through mass production of critical metals etc
EV excitement also coincided around the same time putting the brakes on ICE vehicles.
The US dollar is is also having a bearing as stated below:
domestically (or expectations of a rate increase) normally translate into a stronger dollar which leads to lower metal prices. This happened in May, when the U.S. dollar strengthened amid new expectations that the Fed would raise rates in June or July.
All these negative factors will eventually change at some stage.
