The index you refer to is down 62% approx since October 2021. It is also interesting to note that the difference between 62FE and 57FE is approx $35/t . The gap was as large as $55/t.
Approx 17 steel mills in China that can only use 57FE have been shutdown to improve air quality for the Olympics.
Now that the 62FE price is climbing more mills will buy the lessor grade because the Chineses dont give a fat razoo how much coal they have to burn to turn it it steel. They just plant more trees to eat the green houses gases.
