"Do you think aui could fall back to the 7.60 range or lower?"
The largest discount to NTA I have seen in AUI is 11%, which means that the price could fall to about $7.20
But those prices dont last long, because there are the likes of me and Barrington who move straight in. You dont let a chance to buy the All Ords at 600 points below current levels begging.
The stock can be illiquid, and has a 'certain' type of shareholder which can introduce strange transactions. I dont worry about it, I simply take advantage of it.
(example. Lets say the *last price* for AUI was $7.70, and the current bid/ask is $7.60/$7.80 Also assume I own 20,000 shares and I want to buy another 1,000. I can buy on the ask, and at the same time make myself 'richer' on paper. Or, I can wait on the bid and wait for the cheaper price. If successful, I buy my additional 1,000 shares cheaper, but I also make myself overall *poorer* on paper. I would go for the $7.60 Its a common psychological barrier, but I like to think that I do things for the right *long-term* reasons.)
