Intheblack, unfortunately not attending any of the LICs this yr. I can safely say that business will go on as usual for these guys.
I am however attending the Berkshire annual in May2010, something looking forward to.
I believe LIC holders did well during the Oct-March period. If pieces of stock were not bought during this time, hell, when are you going to buy them? It was an interesting time and hindsight is a wonderful thing because human greed & fear are two traits that will never go away.
It is times like now (today), were we do nothing but purely watch & listen to Mr Market drive up prices, yet again. This is the best time to go back and study the financial 'noise', to become better investors. Opportunities will arise, as they always do - the market is never 100% efficient as the insatiable public (market) repeatedly fail in their fiduciary duties. History always repeats. It is NEVER different.
