    For egg production it's hard to go past the Eisa Brown (French Origin). We get more than 300 eggs/chook/year from them - they have a great temperament BUT because they are so prolific, their life expectancy is shorter than many other breeds. They literally lay themselves to death!!!
    Note that the feed is pretty important though.... you need the right % protein etc. (Cheapest feed not always up to scratch).

    As previously advised, go to a "chook show" and talk to the experts/breeders if you get the chance.
