(Joint Press Release of the city Iserlohn Iserlohn GmbH and Stadtwerke)
"Our previous work has paid off, I thank all members of the Iserlohn CHP team sincerely for their efforts!" Said Mayor Dr. Peter Paul Ahrens rejoiced when he NRW Climate Change Minister Johannes Remmel presented the certificate as CHP model community NRW. Together with five other municipalities he was able to receive the coveted award in Dusseldorf at the first combined heat and power NRW-Forum on 25 September.
"The projects distinguished in that they involved, are of high quality and exemplary. Through cogeneration succeeds, cheap, simple and environmentally friendly to integrate into urban life energy structures, "said Minister Remmel in his greeting.
Together with fifty other cities and towns located Iserlohn had participated in the multi-stage competition for cogeneration model community of NRW Environment Ministry. The basic concept of the city Iserlohn was selected for funding. Until the end of March 2014, the deadline for the creation of detailed concept, the Stadtwerke GmbH Iserlohn has worked on behalf of the city ran. When CHP Forum presented Mayor Dr. Peter Paul Ahrens, the Iserlohn concept: Based on an energy-economic optimization, with the contribution to the integration of renewable electricity generation, thereafter the expansion of combined heat and power in three columns:
Now it is time for implementation. First, the applications for funding must be made. A total of 20 million euros represent country and EU in funding for the six selected CHP concepts.
- Establishment of three local heat islands with current-controlled CHP
- Extension of the existing district heating and the establishment of a heat accumulator
- Object-CHP with ten fuel cell systems
First information on the Iserlohn CHP concept is now available on the Internet at www.kwk-kommune-iserlohn.de.

Object-CHP (Objekt-KWK) seems to be a new (German) term I have not seen before mentioned referring to Micro-CHP.
There are ten fuel cells systems mentioned.
The above link has a page http://www.kwk-kommune-iserlohn.de/was-ist-kwk/objekt-kwk/ (Objekt-KWK) which has the following (translated) which must be referring to 10 BlueGens (i.e. up to 2kW):
Object-CHP
In the object-CHP is fuel cells, which are housed in existing buildings. These may be single-family homes, companies or public buildings. New buildings are therefore not usually necessary. These so-called micro-CHP systems have an electrical output of up to 2 kW.
In a flow of hydrogen fuel is produced by a chemical reaction. As a by-product of this process is created instead of harmful emissions, only water. As part of the CHP model community Iserlohn efficient solid oxide fuel cells are (SOFC) planned in ten municipal buildings in Iserlohn city.
So good to see our BlueGen breaking out in a new German district.
