I doubt they're crazy. But I'm sure if they could avoid building additional coal fired anythings then they would. China is the leading user of renewables such as wind and solar on the planet, with more capacity every day. Kudos where it's deserved. If nuclear suits China and it's needs then thats an issue for them. We have sheet loads of gas so that can be a "go to" for Oz leading up to 2050. Don't get too confused regarding net zero as that does not mean Co2 emissions need to be eliminated, it just means the imbalance of what we emit compared to what the environment can soak is maintained.
