A few points of this incompetent career politician are highlighted her by Paul:
1)The shortest serving Treasurer (dropped by KRudd)
2)1 day leadership challenger before capitulating to Albo who promptly sacked him and gave him Health.
3)Bowen has always talked the big game, but his achievements don't match the hype.
4) Bowen's failures include:
A Federal version of Fuelwatch which cost $20m and achieved nothing;
His ill-fated Grocery Choice;
As Immigration Minister he oversaw a massive blowout of in asylum seeker arrivals of 24,886 people on 395 boats;
He came up with the ludicrous Malaysian solution to swap their unwanted with ours!;
As shadow Treasurer under Shorten, he was the architect of Labor's proposed curtailing of negative gearing and capital gains tax breaks and a mooted crackdown on franking credit cash refunds;
His famous damaging quote: "If you don't like our policies, don't vote for us".
5) Murray goes on the say that it would take Houdini to get out of the inherent policy tangles involved in Labor's bureaucratic (Dept of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water) design. And, Bowen's record suggests such a task is beyond him. "Those leading us down the net zero-path need to provide certainty that the end point is arrived at with a properly functioning economy and a prosperous society"
