heres my take on it. The racing industry is corrupt like everything else. Money talks. I used to work for a racehorse trainer in Randwick. I actually wanted to be a jockey when i was 16 (too tall then got too heavy unless i starved). I was there for a year. They KNOW when their horse is going to win. They pull them up when they dont want them to win. Corruption is everywhere, no industry is immune. Tommy Smith was a good guy. Old school. Theyre not like that nowdays. Malcolm Johnston, Wayne harris, Ron Quinton...they were great. Who do we have nowdays? Shane Dye (puke) beadman, jockey, then priest or whatever he was, then jockey again (i guess priesthood doenst come with bribes), Munce now taking payment for tips, i dont even follow it anymore. But i will be at randwick on tuesday for a fun day and i still pick a lot of winners.
