It is difficult to pinpoint the exact amount of government funding either AFJ or GEM receive, it is reported as 'revenue'. Different funding available to families are CCB (childcare benefit) CCR (childcare rebate) ISS (inclusion support funding) SCCB (special childcare benefit) JET (jobs education and training).
If you use Goodstart as a guide though, they have 644 centres and received in government subsidies for fees, of almost $360 million. This did not include other subsidies such as the professional development funding etc.,
Also interesting is that 2014 saw GoodStart repay $43.1 million of debt saving themselves over $12 million in interest and paid out their loans years in advance. A interesting comment in their reporting was "with our external debt repaid and the business stable, GoodStart has been taking up opportunities for a slow expansion of our network".
I mentioned in a previous post that G8 are expected to settle on 17 centres before the end of November. Eight of those centres were actually due for settlement before the end of September, hopefully shareholders will be updated soon.
