Call Matt, Mark and Luke what you like, but they record the Beginning of Jesus and how Jesus became in favor with God etc.

John is more Spiritual and where I focused on to grasp WHO the Word was, is.
Entirely different Book to the others and I believe, feel, whoever the writer was, they were close to Jesus, or the source for the info.
In fact, I spent most of the time centering around the prelude, opener first 18 verses.
As that covers outside of creation to Jesus being exalted and into the Bosom, Light of the God and Fathers, where Jesus is now referenced as the Only Begotten (begat) God.

IMO, it would appear, you rely to much on others and if one looks at the Christian world as a whole, results or lack of, that would suggest it is not a good idea as most of these have followed your said scholars.
Sad as it may seem, but it appears to be the reality.
