Christians take time to reflect and also to celebrate the birth of a child proclaimed by the prophet Isaiah
Isaiah 9:6-7English Standard Version (ESV)
6 For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon[a] his shoulder,
and his name shall be called[b]
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
We must also acknowledge that in many parts of the world that attacks increase on Christians during Christmas and also Easter.
We see this escalation of anger and violence during the Christmas period most evidently in the middle east but it is not limited to geography we see vitriol and anger directed against Christianity across the board.
The Christmas message is abhorrent to some because it cannot be digested by natural means, it grinds against the very fibre of their carnal souls.
Carnal man seeks the fleeting pleasures of the flesh having a Lord to rule over them is repugnant to him, a proposition to be sneered at with as much contempt as the reprobate can muster.
New American Standard Bible
However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.
