People crying about intolerance towards a person who holds beliefs that are intolerant? Oh the hypocrisy! Anyone can believe whatever they want but those beliefs should not extend past the end of your nose and should not cause harm to others. Thorburn is the chairman of this church therefore one would assume that he strongly adheres to church beliefs including it's stance on homosexuality and abortion . He also said that his beliefs would not be compromised. Having such strong beliefs, being a church chairman and not willing to compromise may mean that he could not be trusted to be inclusive and separate his work and beliefs. Thorburns beliefs simply don't align with Essendons values. He won't compromise and obviously can't be trusted in this leadership role.
