The Jews, Romans, Muslims, have tried to kill the Christians and the Christian faith for 2000 years now.
The Romans even tried to dismantle it from within. When they realised that throwing them in front of lions was only making the faith even stronger. So they joined up and became Christians themselves.
Even that didn't work.
