Quick follow-up Pintohoo - there are strict rules about the admission of hearsay evidence from dead people. That is why it would be impossible for these allegations to go forward in a criminal trial. And no-one is suggesting that can occur.

I'm no fan of Scomo or this liberal government. I don't think Scomo will back down though - not because he doesn't think it will hurt him electorally - but because I think the advice he would have been receiving (imo) I think is correct. Its a bad idea; and wrong.

This is a minority view (particularly among women) ... in the face of a Twitter lynch mob. Hopefully a few people smarter than me can enunciate it more clearly than I am able to.
