    Hi RM

Sorry to pop your thought bubble that works justify the man and makes him righteous but Matthew 25 states the opposite
It is clearly the righteous who are doing the good works they are already believers and their faith is in God alone they are in Christ
their righteousness does not come from their own works or following the law but from God.

You are welcome to pop my thought bubble any day, however, I am sorry to say, what you say is "Clear" is anything but. You are hanging your hat on one word in those verses and that word is Righteousness. You then , look for a definition that Paul gave and try to insert that in Jesus' mouth. It is a fallacy.

If it is clear you say that the sheep are the faith full ones who did all the good works, then who are the goats? Using your assumption, you will then have to conclude that they are the faith full ones who did not commit the good works.

So what happens to the people who have no faith? Will they not be judged? Or are they in the second group?

And why do you think that those verses do not contain the word faith in them at all.

The people are divided into two groups. Those who have committed good works and those who have not.

Those who commit good works achieve salvation. Jesus calls them the righteousness ones. They have earrned that title through their good works.

To the goats on the other hand Jesus says "be gone you who are cursed"... When were they cursed? They have earned their curse because they did not do any good works.

    So RM, please try again.

There is nothing in Matthew verses that talks about faith. It talks purely about achieving salvation through good works.
You have to explain why you are trying to put words in Jesus ' mouth via Paul. But even if you were correct in that assumption, you are trumped because that does not explain the goats.

    Pear
