"You are helping to fulfill Bible prophecy"
Yes of course and always glad to help.

    From Timothy,
"that in the last days ......"
    etc etc.

Can you name a time in human history when those conditions and claims didn't apply somewhere ?
Another general purpose comment that Biblical tragics seem to think is somehow special.
    Hardly prophesy.

It's interesting the way some Christians latch on to Biblical letters and stories aimed at specific people in specific circumstances eg Paul to young Timothy, and then cherry pick bits and pieces to apply to the future or today or last century of the century before that and on and in a way that the author did not intend.
Then when challenged they claim that "God" inspired those authors to write about things even they didn't know they were writing about.
    Yeah right.

When those Christians are believers in the "I can't earn salvation and don't have to do anything but have faith in Jesus." type of fairy tale, it's even more odd that they bother with the Bible at all. What's the point, it doesn't add anything.
The prize for oddness though must go to those somnambulists (watch out zbusc) who arrive at this "faith in Jesus" by gambling and hoping they have backed the right horse.
