IMHO, I am not convinced what Carnarvon’s COO/CEO is informing to concerned individual callers –it just sounds so unprofessional. The last ASX update on 22 June forward plan “Run and Cement the 9-5/8” liner then drill the 8-1/2” hole section into the primary Caley Member target” suggest that CVN is all ready to drill through the prime target. I can’t believe they did not manage to drill through the prime target section in last 2 weeks (unless there has been a major screw-up in the 9-5/8” casing or cementation or a stuck drill string). The only other possibility I see it that Caley Member did not encounter any significant hydrocarbons and they are drilling deeper to test the secondary Crespin and Milne Sandstone targets. Maybe we can expect an asx announcement when the well is drilled to the final target depth (the milestone Mr COO was alluding to!)
