Christmas Day was stolen by the Christians for the birth of someone who was never even born on that date. The traditions now are a mix of pagan and religous tradition.

I am real sick of arrogant Christians thinking all tradition belong to them and them alone.

the various themes that surround Christmas have varied background and some even very, very recent and religion just a cultural contribution.

Christmas itself was the 6th January, St Nicholas Day 6th December and the Christmas Tree though to be linked to winter solstice/agricultural festivals. So one day to merge several evolving festival/tradition into one.

The origin were pagan and it was Christians who wanted to keep those traditions and add their invasive branding on it.

Jesus was not born on December 25. It is a myth. However us non- Christians do not object to the religious aspect still be carried out, nor call for a re-naming though the Americans have it right by calling it the holiday season. So if we can stomach the religous myths that surround the day then surely the selfish Christians can tolerate the other non- Christian traditions.

Myth - Birthday of Christ. Total myth made up by some religous fruitcake. Maybe that is where the Christmas Fruit Cake tradition comes from.
