Not sure if everyone is on the portal so I pulled this from the companies investor portal.

Vonex is pleased to announce that it is currently in final testing of an extension for the Google Chrome browser with a select group of Vonex partners.

The test group are able to access this extension by going to the Google Chrome Web Store and clicking the “Add to Chrome” link. Within minutes, customers are able to make and answer calls from inside their browser.
The extension does not require any Administrator privileges to run on a computer, and removes the need to install any new software to get users up and running with a phone on their desktop.
Our development team has put a large focus on using new open web technologies to provide a mass market option to replace a desk phone with a PC and a headset.
The “Vonex Chrome Phone” is powered by an in-house platform recently developed by Vonex called the “Oper8tor Switchboard”. The “Vonex Chrome Phone” is the first of many applications that are on the development roadmap to be released by Vonex that will utilize this new technology which has been specifically developed to power the much awaited Oper8tor mobile phone application for android and iOS users.
The two main technologies that power Oper8tor are documented protocols, WebRTC and WebSockets. WebRTC is a protocol that has been developed by Google, Mozilla and Microsoft to allow both audio and video to be transmitted live from a web browser. Browsers from all three of these vendors are currently building their support for this new protocol. In addition Apple has announced that their browser will also support WebRTC.
Vonex therefore expects this technology to be widely available in all major browsers by mid-2017.
Previously, additional software would be required for web browsers to build a site that used live video or audio. WebRTC allows real time communication natively, without any additional software support or installation required.
WebSockets is a protocol that allows bi-directional communication between a web browser and a web server. When used in conjunction with WebRTC Vonex can send real time notifications to browsers and mobile apps over a single connection.
The Oper8tor Switchboard also allows a browser to listen to any event that may occur on a current call.
The power of Vonex’s proprietary Switchboard server software is that it allows calls to be dynamically added and removed from group calls. This powers Oper8tor’s ability to be able to drag people in or out of a live call. Switchboard also provides vital real time statistics about current calls, such as the call duration and the active participants.
An example of the benefit of Oper8tor Switchboard would be with a live conference call. An incoming call is made to the Switchboard, where the audio call is sent and received from within a web browser. When new users are connected to a call, an announcement can be made on the page that is hosting the audio call. When someone speaks, an icon is placed next to their name to represent the fact that they are currently talking.
Work is continuing on the Oper8tor Switchboard server to allow unified communications between different communication platforms, such as Skype, Google Hangouts and Facebook Messenger.
Vonex is pleased to join a growing list of companies that are advocating the use of WebRTC, and we look forward to seeing the future progress made in this area by the major vendors
