Chrome producer Polema boosts output 79% in 2005 Source: Interfax
See also Chromium Board Chromium CatalogPolema, a division of the Industrial Metallurgical Holding that is Russia's biggest producer of refined chrome, increased production of chrome, Ni-Cr alloy, molybdenum and tungsten by 79% in 2005, the company said in a press release.
The company said that last year it began producing ML-MP TU14-22- 200-2005 lanthanide molybdenum, which has advantages in long use at high temperatures.
Polema makes powder and sputtering targets for thin film applications from 99.95% and 99.99% chrome. The company for the first time made a target from highly pure Cr2ONi8O alloy for heat-retaining glass. Besides traditional consumers of molybdenum and tungsten, such as the aerospace industry, the new products are used by producers of glass and single crystal sapphires.
The company said the launch of production of pure metal and alloy powders enabled it to expand its range of trade partners. Polema now works closely with companies from Japan, South Korea, Germany, Britain and the United States.
Polema now makes more than 100 types of alloyed powders for protection of equipment and mechanisms from wear and corrosion, stainless steels and alloys for electronics, filters, pyrotechnic components, machine and vehicle parts.
Polema's sales jumped 74.5% to 901.476 million rubles in 2005.
Industrial Metallurgical Holding also controls Tulachermet, Vanadii-Tula and Koks.
