This article focussing on SMI and Marbel Church talks suggests that the Marbel church is commissioning "the British (EIS) experts" as opposed to previous media saying that Sth Cotabato board was going to do it.
That makes a little more sense to me, but is this a case of the link of Catedral influencing Catedral? Seemingly the church is not going to change position on the mine - so I can only guess what the real purpose of the "experts" is?
Anyway - it is good that the church and SMI are talking, but I'm not sure that Pingoy is the ideal abritrator of any negotiations as an advocate of the ban. Is this further evidence of Catedral and Catedral? Maybe it is just a debate, with Pingoy actually positioned as the "swinging voter" in the audience. Dunno. If it is true it all seems a bit strange to me. I think it is point 6 of the Philippines constitution that separates Church from State. What a joke.
Anyway - commiserations to all for a shocking week for SMI and on the markets. I bought too high this month and had to book some big losses for some protection, but left myself sitting on even bigger paper ones. After the Irish folly, maybe the Wallabies can give the US a big flogging tonight just like their market has been giving us. The Hawks up over the Pies will make me feel better about it all too.
Beer time.
