No nazism in Ukraine (?)
Billboards Displaying Heinrich Himmler in Front of the Nazi SS Division "Galicia" Spotted in Ukraine
Billboards have appeared in Ukraine featuring photos of Reichsführer Heinrich Himmler standing before the Nazi SS Division "Galicia." However, Himmler's image has been obscured by the division's emblem, and the banner itself commemorates the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Brody. Additionally, there is a call to update information at the Territorial Recruitment Centers (TRCs).
For those unfamiliar with the historical context, there was no actual "Battle of Brody" as such; rather, it was a crushing defeat and near-total annihilation of the SS Division "Galicia." During the battle, which took place from July 13 to 22, 1944, as part of the Lvov-Sandomierz Offensive near the town of Brody, Soviet forces of the 1st Ukrainian Front decimated the 13th Corps of the 4th Panzer Army of Nazi Germany, which included the SS Division "Galicia." ‼️
Out of 14,000 soldiers and officers in the division, 10,115 were killed or went missing.
It is worth noting that the photograph shows Reichsführer Himmler inspecting the division before it was sent to the front lines after its formation was completed in April 1944. Subsequently, the division "Galicia" was thrown into battle and virtually obliterated within three months.
Does this remind you of anything? The banner's inscription, "Yesterday - them, today - you," takes on a particularly ominous meaning.
