IoT vendor Connected IO signs Australian distribution deal with M2M Connectivity

Connected IO, an internet of things and machine-to-machine vendor listed on the ASX, has signed an Australia and New Zealanddistribution deal with M2M Connectivity.
The deal is intended as a launchpad for Connected IO to expand into Asia-Pacific, with the initial launch focusing on the failover and business continuity market.
“M2M is at the forefront of a rapidly growing marketing for technology built on LTE cellular services; and their ability to reach into the local market is key to our success in the region,” Connected IO executive chairman Jason Ferris said.
“We are delighted to be partnered with the M2M team, and look forward to working with them to deliver solutions in key vertical markets.”
M2M will distribute the vendor's EM2000T-AP-Cat 1 USB modem, its first product to be launched into Australia and New Zealand, with a wi-fi Cat 1 router to follow in the second quarter of 2018.
“The new Connected IO EM2000T LTE Cat 1 USB modem is a great addition to our portfolio, providing a high-quality, cost-effective, industrial-grade USB modem for connecting remote assets.” M2M Connectivity director Daryl Chambers said.
“The [modem] overcomes many of the issues M2M customers have seen using consumer USB dongles.”
The agreement is for an initial two years and will continue from year to year unless terminated.
