Further on Cisco and cyber-security software, in October 2013 Cisco acquired Sourcefire, a company with very similar sounding product capabilities to Covata and y/e 31/12/2012 revenues of $223 million, for $2.7 BILLION. [ Sourcefire did have a cash pot of $204 million too....] It took until Nov '14 to completely integrate Sourcefire into Oracle Security offerings.

In March '15 Cisco forms ties with Covata.
So is Covata product more useful/more easily integrated ? Is Cisco evaluating it more diligently than it did the Sourcefire purchase before making a takeover offer ? [ tho, for them a few billion is petty cash ]
I am no techie so I cant get my brain around what is so special about Covata vs the others.
However, in my ignorance I would settle for a 10 x markup offer....
