    Hi soj88 that is certainly one approach but problem is you only know a high and a low in hindsight. You may sell at what you consider a high only to have the share to continue to the upside and at the other end you may buy on what you consider a low and it continues south.

    In other words you are trying to out guess the market which is very difficult in a news driven market, it only takes one bad move to wipe out several good ones .

    News plays havoc with charts in the small cap sector and emotions play havoc with disipline.

    Sticking them in the bottom of the drawer is often the best way you are either right or wrong and have none of the angst or brokerage in between.

    So many ways to make or lose money but it is generally accepted 95% of traders will lose over time I'm not sure what it is for longterm investors but will be considerably better and with a diversified selection most would win.
