1552 [Dow Jones] QBE (QBE.AU) 1H10 insurance margin of 15.7%, primarily attributed to fall in risk free interest rates in last 2 weeks of June, is lower than Citi's forecast of 16% which was at bottom of QBE guidance, and also below consensus forecasts of around 16.4% according to Citi's analysts. Capital adequacy ratio, gross written premiums both in-line with Citi's forecasts, while unchanged interim dividend of 62 Australian cents was 1 cent less than forecast by Citi analysts who "continue to see QBE as a relative underperformer compared to IAG (IAG.AU) and Suncorp-Metway (SUN.AU)".
