Citroen
Citroën was created by Andre Citroën shortly after the end of World War I, in 1919, and launched the Type A that same year. The French brand has since grown to be part of the second largest car manufacturer in Europe - PSA Peugeot-Citroen. Citroën established a reputation as an automotive pioneer with developments such as the first front-wheel-drive steel monocoque production car in 1934, the first to use pneumatic suspension in 1955, with 'Airbumps' and "airbag in roof" technology more recent innovations. The company remains particularly famous for its 2CV and DS models, and the latter was the inspiration for a premium DS line of cars that sits above the brand's C line. Citroën has been in Australia for more than 90 years and offers passenger, luxury and commercial vehicles. Sime Darby Motors took over the distribution rights for Citroën in 2013.
