it actually makes perfect sense for the nbn to be rolled out to the country first.
the nbn has the potential to encourage population shift from the cities to the country. if the state pollies work at this, they will be able to move large numbers of people around. this will take infrastructure strain off the cities. it is my guess that the savings will far out weigh the cost of the nbn
imagine the savings - roads, rail, hospitals, schools, utilities, pollution
the nbn is the trigger for Australians to move away from the coast - this is history in the making
