It is early days for AOH1996, it could be that neither YF or anyone else knows its potential to be a valid treatment. Trials are needed to confim potential.. If the scientific brains in IMU think it has promise I don't see why they shouldn't pursue it. I don't know there foreward work load but presume they need new candidates as there existing drug trials mature. IMU say they don't want to go beyond phase 2.

From when I first looked at IMU I thought the biggest treat to its investment potential was competition from other companies developing products to treat cancer. Which is why I keep my eye out for what is happening in the oncology/cancer field. As far as I can make out IMU drugs are far better than current treatments and several years ahead in development of new generation drugs. The BP are not going to pause dealmaking for a few years because something better might crop up. If I was in there shoes, knowing more options were on the way I would reduce large up front payments and increase the royalty component of any deal to compensate to realities.
This is my imagination as to what is likely or should occur.
