Cheers hicks ..... keeping ‘up to date’ with sector news and NRW news has become a habit, and the chat element is a pleasure too - haikus to turnips with sunshine, zen and latin thrown in
.....All up a grand romance, and NRW - as I have said before - pays dividends beyond my dreams.

So the sharing is to ‘give back’ what I can.
    - And without me there would be many less, but plenty more salient posts I guess?

Regards that government infrastructure pipeline if NRW registered an expression of interest in Stage 2 of the Stephenson Avenue extension, this project may be another to keep an eye on?

    cheers

EOI’s open for Stage two of $125M Stephenson Avenue extension, WA
Posted on August 21, 2020 by Lauren Jones

Local contractor Densford Civil has begun construction on the first stage of the Stephenson Avenue extension project.

Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from industry for stage two of the project are now open, with applications closing September 2, 2020.

The project will see Stephenson Avenue extended from Scarborough Beach Road to Cedric Street and will include a new freeway interchange. It’s expected 800 jobs will be created across both stages of the project.

Western Australian Premier Mark McGowan said he was pleased to see another key state government election commitment reach an important milestone.
“Getting these works underway to extend Stephenson Avenue from Scarborough Beach Road through to Cedric Street and the Mitchell Freeway, in Stirling, is about creating a pipeline of jobs, making the daily commute easier for residents and workers, and delivering what we said we would,” McGowan said.
“Once completed, the project will connect the commercial business areas and provide better access to Mitchell Freeway, Scarborough Beach Road and Cedric Street along with unlocking private investment and jobs in a key CBD hub outside of Perth.”

Federal Member for Stirling Vince Connelly said the project will be constructed in two phases, with phase one to be delivered by the City of Stirling and phase two by Main Roads WA.
“When complete, the project will extend Stephenson Avenue from Scarborough Beach Road to Cedric Street and will include a new freeway interchange,” Connelly said.

City of Stirling Mayor Mark Irwin said the City was eager to start construction on the pivotal project.
“Reaching this significant milestone is the result of years of planning, with contributions from all tiers of government and a shared goal to improve this area,” Irwin said.
“The Stephenson Avenue Extension is a key element of our vision for the Stirling City Centre and once complete, it will provide an important connection and facilitate further public and private infrastructure projects to activate the area.”

The Federal Government has committed $65 million to the project with the Western Australian contributing $60 million.
