    Good morning pbawley thank you for sharing ...

    I was wondering if - out of this health and economic disaster- somehow the ‘dead weight’(?) zero profit Pacific Highway contract in NSW that NRW took on when it bought BGC might somehow begin to turn a profit ?

    And there is a Federal Government stimulus package to be announced today ?

    ....And I like this comment in the first of your links from the Civil Contractors Federation WA CEO, Andy Graham;
    ... “Now more than ever, we need to look after our own,” he said. “We’ve already seen too many government projects bundled up into large packages to suit the big internationals, leaving local companies to fight over the crumbs.”

    ....Hopefully this kind of thinking will help tip the balance towards the consortia lead by NRW winning the Bunbury Ring Road Project rather than our short-listed opponent, CIMIC?

    In regards that project however, (and perhaps relevant to other new infrastructure stimulus packages?), Jessica Burton of Bunbury Mail wrote last November that Bunbury Ring Road had already been fast tracked as part of an overall boost, and initially the funds were not going to be available for another year..

    ... “The federal government has announced more than $280 million in funding for the Bunbury Outer Ring Road will be brought forward in order to meet the state's ambitious project timeline.
    On Wednesday morning, November 20, the federal government announced a $940 million boost for WA infrastructure in a bid to drive jobs and strengthen the economy.
    From this financial year, the $283.6 million for the Bunbury Outer Ring Road will be made available in order to allow construction works to begin in early 2021.....

    ..."We're delivering this package of critical road and rail projects sooner as part of our $100 billion pipeline which forms a key plank of our plan for a stronger economy."Premier Mark McGowan said the bringing forward of funding by the federal government would ensure that the state government could get on with building the projects.”

    ...Which leads to the question if government had already fast tracked many of the projects it had in had in its pipeline last year what does it have left in its’ hat?

    cheers
