For two reasons, surely these guys have to do something to resurrect this situation.
1. Their reputations in ANY business going forward, especially CJ as he is still young with (potentially) many more years left in the business world.
2. If this thing goes tits up, then surely they're set to lose heaps of money as well. Isn't it in their best interests to ensure the company does well, the SP is strong, then they make lots of money.
Is my reasoning silly or naive? I'm holding on to some hope here.
Ps I'll apply the above logic to the others too. Paul Allen (the geoligist who surely will have no reputation left unless a recovery takes place), the Chairman, Peter Spiess etc. I'm guessing they're all heavily invested here (professionally and monetarily). You would think they all have a lot to lose and would be working their bums off to fix it.
