If what you say is correct, and I have no reason to doubt you, then it does seem a very odd strategy by management not to openly disclose this information.

Sure, they are not obliged to, however any news from a fledgling start up miner is always welcomed by eager shareholders. A much better option than having holders wait until quarterlies.

I can't quite work out their strategy, baffling stuff actually. Hard to believe it's a "don't care about updating holders" attitude either though. If there's a reason,I havn't been able to work it out yet.
